People want to know, are you certified yet? Eighty percent of the residents surveyed across five Puget Sound area counties said that they prefer to support environmentally-minded businesses, like EnviroStars. Certified businesses are recognized with a 2- to 5-Star rating, and can use the EnviroStars logo to show they've had our objective third party assessment. This provides an easy way for the public to identify local businesses they want to support in their community. See the EnviroStars introductory brochure and follow the steps below.
Step 1: Is your business eligible for EnviroStars certification?
To be eligible, you must operate a business type that typically generates hazardous waste, be located in a participating county, and agree to participate in a periodic renewal process.
Step 2: Complete an EnviroStars application worksheet.
Step 3: Schedule a free, on-site consultation.
Step 4: Complete tasks agreed to in the visit, to ensure you meet all qualification criteria.
Once we verify that you meet the qualification criteria, we use the on-site consultation visit and your worksheet to determine a star rating. Within a few short weeks, you will receive a new member packet in the mail and start reaping the rewards of EnviroStars certification! Including access to the EnviroStars Members Only page.
Certification and Ratings
Businesses certified by EnviroStars are given a 2- to 5-Star rating based on their demonstrated commitment to reducing hazardous materials and wastes, and implementing environmentally beneficial practices. The higher the star rating, the more proactive the business has been, and the more recognition they receive.
