The EnviroStars Cooperative of Jefferson, King, Kitsap, Pierce, and Whatcom counties and Puget Soundkeeper Alliance, is proud to offer organizations the opportunity to be recognized as CoStars in the EnviroStars program. Any organization interested in furthering the goal to prevent hazardous waste in the Puget Sound area may be a CoStar even if the organization does not fit the hazardous waste generator criteria to be certified by the EnviroStars program.

CoStars receive the following benefits for their participation and support:

  • A certificate to display by your organization.
  • Use of a standard tag line to promote the organization as an EnviroStars CoStar.
  • Recognition as a supporter of the EnviroStars program in promotional materials, radio sponsorships, presentations, networking opportunities, booth events, websites, etc.

To be considered as a CoStar you must meet the following requirements:

  • Maintain a responsible environmental record.
  • Do business and/or provide a service in participating EnviroStars Cooperative counties.
  • Establish an ongoing plan for your participation as a CoStar.
  • Educate employees about the EnviroStars program and their role as CoStar.
  • Actively promote EnviroStars in standard and creative ways.

In addition, you must agree to participate in at least four following options:

  • Serve as a mentor to businesses interested in becoming EnviroStars.
  • Sponsor a best management practice/environmental workshop.
  • Speak about EnviroStars at business group meetings.
  • Host an EnviroStars presentation in conjunction with the EnviroStars Cooperative.
  • Put a promotional or editorial item in your company newsletter.
  • Place a promotional display in your building.
  • Create an announcement, insert or mailing about EnviroStars and distribute to customers or members of your organization.
  • Provide financial resources, goods or services to the EnviroStars Cooperative.
  • Implement other creative ideas with approval from the EnviroStars Cooperative.

The EnviroStars Cooperative will supply CoStars with educational materials (video, brochures, articles, etc.). The CoStars may tailor certain materials or create new ones, with approval from the EnviroStars Cooperative.
